About UsJohn Fedders has an active and wide-ranging practice in securities law enforcement and litigation, and in commodities law enforcement and litigation. He also has an active practice in corporate law and finance law. He was Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement from 1981-85. As Director of the Division of Enforcement, he managed our nation's civil enforcement of the federal securities laws. He was responsible for the formulation of enforcement policy, the selection of cases, supervision and settlement of litigation, and representation of the S.E.C. in its relations with Congress and other law enforcement and regulatory bodies. Mr. Fedders has extensive experience with complex investigations, enforcement proceedings, and litigation under federal and state securities laws. He represents clients who face regulatory and white-collar criminal investigations, disciplinary hearings and enforcement proceedings before federal and state securities regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the stock exchanges, the National Association of Securities Dealers, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He represents clients in S.E.C. investigations relating to insider trading, stock manipulation, and violation of accounting and disclosure rules. He represents clients in arbitration proceedings involving securities law issues, and reparation proceedings involving commodities law issues. He represents investors, officers, issuers, accountants, attorneys, investment advisers, underwriters, broker-dealers, and others in a broad variety of civil litigation, including derivative cases, class actions, and other cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States. He has conducted, and advised various clients with respect to, internal corporate investigations. He also has performed special oversight tasks regarding the ethical and legal responsibilities of corporate operations. Beyond securities litigation, Mr. Fedders has provided considerable advice on `33 Act and `34 Act disclosures, `34 Act procedures and legal ethics. Mr. Fedders also has been involved in complex financial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and tender offers. In one capacity or the other, he has addressed the complex issues facing corporations, boards of directors, securities firms, mutual funds, investors, lawyers and accountants.
